Use of Technology Resources in Education Device Acceptance Agreement

Responsible Use of Technology and AI in Education Guidelines

Technology and artificial intelligence (AI) have become essential tools in modern education, offering opportunities to enhance learning, improve engagement, and expand access to knowledge in the following ways:

  • Greater Accessibility – Technology helps bridge learning gaps, providing assistive tools for students.
  • Personalized Learning – AI-powered tools can adapt to your learning style, providing customized resources and recommendations.
  • Enhanced Engagement – Interactive content, simulations, and gamified learning make studying more dynamic and enjoyable.
  • Efficient Collaboration – Digital platforms enable seamless communication and teamwork with peers and teachers.
  • Smart Study Assistance – AI tools like chatbots, language models, and automated feedback can help with assignments, research, and exam preparation.

Responsible and ethical use is crucial to maximize these educational benefits. LMSD considers the following as the ethical and responsible use of AI and technology in education:

  • Use Technology Purposefully – Ensure that digital tools support your academic goals rather than serve as a distraction.
  • Verify Information Sources to Avoid Misinformation – AI-generated content may not always be accurate. Learn to critically assess online content, distinguish credible information from misleading or false data, and use credible research sources.
  • Adhere to Academic Integrity – Avoid plagiarism and misuse of AI in assignments. Give credit to all sources used, as plagiarism violates the code of conduct. If unsure, ask a teacher for guidance.
  • Practice Good Digital Citizenship – Be respectful and responsible when engaging online. Follow trademark and copyright laws, and cite all sources properly. Do not use technology to antagonize, bully, harass, or stalk others. Be mindful of your online behavior, ensuring it aligns with ethical and respectful communication.
  • Protect Yourself and Your Data – Be mindful of sharing personal information online and understand privacy settings. Avoid posting personal details, contact information, or schedules. Report any online attacks or inappropriate behavior immediately.
  • Use AI Responsibly – AI can be a great assistant, but should not replace critical thinking, creativity, and genuine learning.

Technology and AI can significantly enhance learning when used thoughtfully and ethically. By following best practices and maintaining academic integrity, users can harness digital tools to support their education and future success while ensuring a safe and respectful online environment. Failure to comply with the above Technology and AI in Education guidelines will result in disciplinary action.
